Federal College of Education goes to Iwo
The House of Representatives has late last year passed the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Education in the state.
The development has generated a lots if heat as several towns in the state have shown interest and agitated for its siting.
Some of the town who have shown interest include Ila-Orangun, Osogbo, Ikire, Ilobu, Iragbiji, Ikirun, Ifon-Orolu and Gbongan. They appealed to the governor and other stakeholders to consider their town.
However, Adamu last week during a briefing recently said the matter has been settled for Iwo.
According to a source, who was privy to meeting, told InsightMedia that the minister said “the College will be in Iwo. We have concluded it. It’s just waiting for presidential approval.
The source also confirmed that Adamu hinted that President Muhammadu Buhari may likely approve it this week.
